It is funny how life works sometimes. Colin went on holiday with a friend to Ayia Napa and Carolyn was meant to be going to Rhodes with two friends when the holiday was cancelled at the last minute. The girls booked an alternative holiday and ended up staying at the same apartment complex as the guys. After a little persuading by the girls they all went dancing one night and from then on they went out for meals together.
When they returned to the UK, Colin and Carolyn kept in touch and Colin’s first trip over to visit Carolyn included a trip to St Andrews where Colin announced that he wished he had brought his clubs! Since then Carolyn has introduced Colin to the Scottish midge (first encountered on a camping trip to Skye) and Colin has broadened Carolyn’s sporting knowledge, introducing her to hockey, golf and rugby. Colin moved to Scotland in 2009 and proposed to Carolyn on her birthday last year.
Pre-wedding or engagement photography sessions are a great way for people who are not so comfortable in front of the camera to see that photography can be fun and that you do not need to ‘perform’ for the camera. It is my job to help you relax whilst creating beautiful images that you will treasure. I do this by ‘directing’ and helping you interact with each other. That way you have fun and forget that it is a photography session. It is a bit like hanging out together, just I happen to have a camera with me. A pre wedding photography session will also help you be more relaxed about the photography on your wedding day, giving you one less thing to worry about.
Colin and Carolyn chose St Andrews beach for their pre-wedding photography, and we had a lot of fun with much laughter. Enjoy the images.
Colin and Carolyn were recently married at Balbirnie House in Fife and I will be posting some of the images on the blog soon. But first I am looking forward to them seeing their photographs for the first time at their projected viewing on Friday….

Fantastic pictures. Looks like everyone had fun during the shoot. An engagement photo shoot is a great idea. I’ll have one when I get married!!!! <3
Louise made us feel completely at ease, almost as if she (or the camera) wasn’t there. We were delighted with how natural the photos looked and also that they captured the fun we had on the day. Looking forward to seeing the wedding photos and having had the engagement shoot made me feel much more relaxed.
Photos are amazing, you both look so happy!
Really lovely photo’s in a beautiful setting. Romantic without being too mushy. Captured their feelings for one another perfectly
These photos are fantastic – really capture the “moments” well – the couple look so happy – very professionally done and gave me a lump in my throat – well done !! Lovely story too
Hi, I’m the tall, dark, moderately handsome and slightly outgoing one in the photos!
I may be a bit biased but we had an absolutely fantastic time with Louise at St andrews. She put Carolyn, the shy retiring one, completely at ease and I think that shows in the images.
Having done the engagement shoot it helped enorously when it came to the wedding photos.
I couldn’t recommend Louise highly enough, she is very professional but exceedingly friendly and will put her heart and soul into getting the best images for you.
