I have been a motorcycle racing fan for quite some time, partly because it is usually a little more exciting with more overtaking in one lap than a whole Formula 1 race and partly because I ride motorbike!
My favourite series is MotoGP world championship and the last few years have had some good British interest, especially in the 125 class. I like to support all the UK riders but my favourite has been Scott Redding as we both come from the same place – Gloucester. I certainly won’t forget when he won his first world 125cc race at Donnington in 2008, I got so excited in the closing stages I ended up jumping up and down whilst watching it on the telly. Not only was Scott Redding the first British rider to win a race in any of the MotoGP classes for quite some years, but at the age of 15 he was also the youngest ever rider to win in that class – younger even than Valentino Rossi was when he won his first 125 race, and he is arguably the greatest motorcycle racer ever.
As you have probably guessed by now I am a bit of a fan, so I was thrilled when I got the chance to photograph Scott as part of his fundraising efforts for this year’s racing.
Unfortunately the economic events of recent years mean that some racers are having to take money to their teams. To help with this, Scott is having a fundraiser in Gloucester on the 16th January (to find out more please click the link: Scott Reading Fundraiser).
As well as auctioning signed memorabilia from other motorcycle racers, Scott will be auctioning some of these images as signed prints.
If you want to know which prints he is using you will have to go along to the event at Branson’s Motorcycles on the 16th January!
There is also some good news for Scott about a Moto2 ride this year. Hopefully this will be a better ride this year with more reliable machinery.
You can see how Scott gets on this year by following him when the season starts in April. I know I will be following the MotoGP race season and cheering for Scott and the other Brits.

Nice article. Will definitely return to read more.
[...] fan so when the opportunity to photograph world championship motorcycle racer Scott Redding for a second time came along I jumped at it. Scott moved up to the Moto2 class last year and finished the season [...]
Thanks Mark. It helped that he was an easy going person to photograph and he did have a sense of fun. As you know it is amazing the confined, ordinary looking places that you can get great photos in!
Great work as ever Louise.
1,3 and 5 give a great soulful insight, and the rest show a playful sense of what Scott’s personality probably is.
If you’ve achieved this, then you can do no more as a people photographer, I’m sure the prints will sell like hot cakes and deservedly so.
